After 5 - Magic of Children in the Arts

Art is about so much more than painting pretty pictures!

It’s about fostering creative thinking, developing fine motor skills, and problem solving. The Magic of Children in the Arts is about investing in the development of the next generation as much as it is about drawing technique or mixing paint colours.

We are celebrating 24 years of unique arts programming that has enriched the lives of over 12,000 children and youth in the Collingwood and Clearview Township communities.

Please join us to congratulate the amazing young creative minds of our town for their very first After Five Event. Bring the whole family. See the show, delight in tasty nibbles, try the scavenger hunt, win our lucky prize draw, and learn all about the MAGIC that has been created at the Collingwood Public Library.

We offer exciting opportunities for volunteering, board positions, and leadership opportunities for you and your staff.

This is Canada’s LARGEST Children’s Art Exhibition! It has transformed ‘refrigerator art’ into a sea of colour and fun. See over 1200 works of art by children ages 4-13 from Collingwood and Clearview Township in the show. In addition to our exhibition, 2018 has included these exciting initiatives:

• Children’s Saturday Art Classes: Art Sprouts and Art Jams (Oct - June)
• Magic of Children free Library Art Classes (Jan - Feb)
• Magic of Children In-the-schools Art Classes (Jan - Feb)
• Grade 7&8 art exhibition at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts (BMFA) (March 4 - April 11th)
• Magic at the Market (May - Oct)

The Magic of Children in the Arts has worked continuously to increase our impact in the community, to strengthen the benefits for children, and to enhance local arts & culture.

There is no charge to attend the Chambers After 5 events and you can bring a one time guest who has not been previously to an After 5, so they can see some advantages of Chamber membership.
